This shiboridashi was handcrafted by Atsuo Mori in his Bizen workshop. With no handle or grip, it is designed for brewing tea, allowing the leaves and their infusion to be directly visible.
It is handled by its body and lid, while its spout allows for a delicate pour. Its understated proportions highlight the material and the marks left by the firing process.
Atsuo Mori himself practices tea ceremonies and designs his pieces with this close relationship between ceramics and tasting in mind. This shiboridashi is thus conceived as much as a functional object as it is a tasting companion.
