This 80-prong chasen is handmade by Hochikuen, a historic Takayama brand from Nara Prefecture. Its many prongs allow for fine and consistent matcha preparation, especially when making usucha.
More densely packed than a chasen with fewer prongs, it allows for easy creation of a fine and even foam. It is thus a versatile model, particularly suitable for daily matcha preparation.
Each chasen is handcrafted in Takayama, using expertise passed down for over 500 years.
